Prerequisite: Participants must have successfully completed the Basic Juvenile Officers Course and obtained certification prior to enrollment.
This five-day, 38-hour program is certified by the State of New York Police Juvenile Officers Association (SNYPJOA) and is designed to advance the knowledge, skills, and confidence of law enforcement professionals working in the field of juvenile justice.
The curriculum addresses the challenges of today’s evolving juvenile justice landscape, with particular emphasis on custody procedures involving juveniles charged with fingerprintable offenses. Through a combination of expert instruction and practical application, participants will gain the tools necessary to respond effectively and ethically to the complex issues facing youth and their communities.
